The Housing Shortage? No, the country is full

13 Jun

Apparently, there is a housing shortage. People are living with their parents until they are in their thirties. Not enough houses are being built. Yet thousands of houses are being built. Planning rules are being eased. Green belt is eaten away.

There is no housing shortage. The reality is that the country is full. There are more people than houses. Yet we continue to allow 250,000 new people into the country every year. A new city every year!

When will it stop?

The Labour Home Secretary, David Blunkett, famously said that immigration was self limiting. He said that he would continue to allow immigration until the country became so unpleasant that immigration would dry up!

Thanks David. Your policy is being implemented
